The Indian River Lakes Conservancy (IRLC) invites the community to join them on Saturday, September 26th from 11 AM to 2 PM for their Fall Family Fun Day and Open House at Redwood Hill Preserve (44010 Stine Rd, Redwood, NY 13679).
Attendees can expect to enjoy a variety of seasonal activities, including gourd decorating, photo opportunities, and a donut and cider station. Additionally, Vici and Steve Diehl will give a talk on the indigenous people of the area, and experienced guides will lead walks along the various trails on the Preserve, with opportunities to identify birds, trees, and other flora and fauna. Everything at the event will be complimentary and open to the public.
“IRLC had some fabulous programming this summer, and as we wind down our event season, we’re looking forward to this opportunity to connect with our community before many of our residents leave the area for the winter,” said IRLC Board Member and Secretary Janet Carrington.
IRLC will also be providing lunch for attendees cooked on the brand new grill graciously donated by Charles Garlock & Sons in Alexandria Bay, and will also be opening its headquarters at 43982 Stine Rd., Redwood, NY 13679 to the public to see the “behind the scenes” of the conservancy’s work.
“We’re excited to invite people to see our offices and other aspects of our work. Unfortunately, we can’t always be out on the trails or lakes,” said John O’Driscoll, Board Chair. “Sometimes, the good work happens behind a desk.”
