What's New
The Indian River Lakes Conservancy was founded in 1998 and celebrates its silver anniversary of 25 years this year! While we are relatively young for an organization, we are forever wild, thanks to all of you!
The United States was the first country in the world to recognize the importance of protecting vital ecosystems in our natural world. While this concept has been around for over 150 years, to see it happening in the Indian River Lakes Conservancy Watershed — right here in our own backyard, is monumental, to say the least!
As we celebrate 25 years of land and water protection and environmental education this spring and summer 2023 season, we plan to honor the contributions of the visionaries who have played such a significant part in who we are, what we stand for, and why the work we do matters. Please, if you’re able, join us at upcoming events and receptions as we not only give a nod to the past but share a glimpse of our future with all of you.
As we look to the future, we can introduce new board members, and a new office organizational chart with new positions and more time devoted to all of you! When this team looks at acquiring new parcels, developing programs, sustaining existing initiatives and creating new partnerships; you can be sure of one thing, we will always work to ensure what we do is for your benefit, forever.
We wish to thank all board members, former and current, staff, volunteers, and members for a wonderful 25 years of hard work and dedication. Each and every one of you has left a legacy, no matter how big or how small the contribution, that will endure forever. It is an incredible gift to leave the generations that follow.
