Mud Lake is a small but pristine lake of 13 residents.

Our shorelines and lake are also the home of an abundant group of wildlife.

From geese, loons, ducks, turtles, deer, otters, muskrats, beavers, osprey, and many other little creatures. Our residents and friends enjoy fishing, swimming, and kayaking.

Lake Statistics

Wildlife & Water Quality Reports

Option for a report per year detailing water quality or wildlife observations. We receive annually a Water Quality report from the Town of Alexandria Waste Management Plant. It gives us a breakdown of phosphorus going into the lake, that enhances the growth of the Eurasian Milfoil Plant.

History

Over the past 30 years, Mud Lake Association has battled the spread of the Eurasian Milfoil Plant. The fear of the invasive plant taking over our shallow lake is a reality. We have implemented a variety of methods to combat it. From hand pulling, herbicides, and using a Harvester have been the main sources.

Our residents are resilient and will continue to seek new methods to keep this plant under control. In the meantime, Association members will continue to enjoy the beauty and solitude of this beautiful wonderment of nature.

Our residents utilize the lake for relaxation and enjoyment. Fishing, swimming, or cruising around in a kayak, canoe or small motor boat are priorities.
