Black Lake Association
Black Lake covers an area of almost 11,000 acres. It is located close to the Canadian border, two hours north of Syracuse.
It is the largest lake in St. Lawrence County. It is over 20 miles long and 4 miles wide in some places. More than 60 miles of shoreline and many islands.
It has been a fisherman's Paradise with the best bass fishing in the Northeast since the 1800’s. Some of the many activities in this area include: Miniature Golf, Casino, and Bowling. Visits to Bolt Castle, Canada, historic battle sites, and museums.

Fish Species
The lake is known for fishing Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Bowfin, Bullhead, Catfish, Northern Pike, and Walleye.
Invasive Species
Aquatic: Eurasian Watermilfoil, Curly-leaved pondweed, Eurasian water-milfoil, European frog-bit, Zebra & quagga mussel Brittle naiad, and banded mystery snail
Shoreline: Phragmites, Purple loosestrife

History
Black Lake is one of eighteen natural lakes in the Indian River Lakes system of St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties. It was formed approximately 15,000 years ago be the same glaciers that formed the great lakes.

Membership
Our mission as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation is to preserve and protect the eco-systems of the lake and to enhance water quality, fishery, boating safety, and aesthetics of the lake for the benefit of all people who frequent the lake and wildlife that inhabit both its water and shores.
