Winter Carnival Hike at Redwood Hill Preserve

Join us for a winter walk at the Redwood Hill Preserve.  Our guides will take us for a 1.2 mile easy hike.  View Butterfield Lake from our new overlook deck on the Beatrice Rosemond Trail.  Hot chocolate and bonfire social to follow.

Our second Food for Thought: Nature Talk will feature speaker Dr. Laurie Rush.  Dr. Rush, featured in the book “Lives in Ruins: Archaeologists and the Seductive Lure of Human Rubble”, is an archaeologist who has been studying the history and archaeology of this region for more than 30 years.  She will discuss archaeology research and findings about the indigenous people of Northern NY and their management of local landscapes, biodiversity, and food sources.

This nature talk will focus on shoreline resiliency.  The talk is held at the Depauville Public Library.  Homemade soup and bread will be served at 12pm.  The event is free to the public, donation accepted.
