for an Early Morning Bird Hike
at the Grand Lake Reserve.
Spring migrants are here and the breeding season has begun. Join us at 7:30 am for an early morning bird hike at the Grand Lake Reserve.
Linnea Rowse, Audubon New York, will lead the walk and help to identify the birds encountered by sight and song. Participants will get a chance to see the Golden-winged Warbler habitat restoration area and hope for a glimpse of this species of concern.
Trail conditions may be muddy so wear appropriate closed-toe shoes and bring your binoculars. A hat, water and insect repellent are recommended.
Registration is not required, but appreciated for this hike.
To reach the trailhead: from the village of Redwood, travel Cottage Hill Road for 3 miles, then bear left on Burns Road driving 1.75 to the IRLC parking lot (it’s the 2nd parking lot on the left).
